Now that I've actually got some spare time (I'm bored actually), I thought I'd post. The deftones concert was SWEET! They had two opening acts, the first of which I don't know the name, and the second was Poison the Well. Both were pretty good. Once the deftones came out I knew it was going to be a great show. Right at the beginning the crowd went nuts and, as to be expected, the mass of people just kinda moved around uncontrollably. At one point I lost my balance and fell upon a wall of people. After I managed to regain my balance, I got pushed over to the side of the crowd. Once there I ran into Jon which was rather unexpected. I went with him to see deftones when they performed here 4 years ago. This time I went alone and somehow ran into him amidst all that craziness. I kinda stayed toward the side for most of the show where everyone was pretty calm, so I didn't get to go as crazy as I wanted to, but I still had a blast.
Highlights of the show were when Chino, frustrated by his out of tune guitar while trying to play Digital Bath, tossed it over his head behind him and just sang for the rest of the song and then flipped off the stage crew for not tuning the guitar right. Another memorable moment was when someone tossed a bloody rag on stage to Chino. The rag has a girl's name and number written on it and said 'call me.' Chino asked the crowd if he should call, which of course everyone said yes, so he then asked for a phone. Everyone held up their cells and he eventually took someone's cell and called the number, only to get an answering machine.
But the most memorable moment (for me anyway) was hearing them play The Chauffeur, a Duran Duran cover. Most of the people there didn't seem to know what that song was, which made it that much cooler for me. So now I've heard two of my favorite covers by them live. That alone made it an awesome night.
All in all, I left there one happy guy. The only bad thing was I wished they had played for at least another hour. Seemed too short, but oh well. I definitely had a great time. Just gotta wash the smoke/pot smell out of my clothes :|
Now that deftones week is coming to a close, I can finally listen to those Dieselboy cds I bought. Plus I have a bunch of movies I need to watch. I watched Finding Nemo earlier. It was a great movie. I can't wait to watch all the extras. All that will have to wait until tomorrow or though. I'm way too tired now. It's bed time for me.
Oh, and I finally got some Stikfas, but more on that later. :)
Yay for Ant! Wonderful news to hear of such happiness. Hopefully the concert in which you attend next time should be just as fun if not any funner! Congrats on knowing Duran Duran songs, they of which have made some good music potentially!!!1

It's not so much that I know Duran Duran songs as it is that I know the songs the deftones have covered. If that makes any sense.

Actually I don't know much of Duran Duran, maybe a few singable songs but I think it funny that they made famous "Ordinary World" as a cover. What you need is deftones to cover that cover. That would be so hot it stings!
