what's taters?

Monday I went in to work to have a "discussion" with my managers about the Team Leader position I mentioned in my last entry. I had a few reservations about the position mostly because it sounded more like an operations type job, which to me isn't fun at all. I mentioned this to my managers at the meeting and even though there are operational responsibilities, they don't necessarily have to be done by me. Basically I would oversee the rest of the Customer Service team and make sure that things get done. As the overseer, I can assign the other staff tasks in order to ensure that things run smoothly. So, it's kind of like a supervisory position. The only downfall is that I probably won't get paid more and I have to attend more meetings than the regular staff, but it's all good I guess. It should make for nice padding on my resume. The funny thing is that I've only been working there for a little over one semester and already I'm climbing the ranks, while there are other people who have been there for years and haven't advanced at all. Whatever.

Since I've got so much time on my hands now, I'm trying to watch a lot of movies to pass the time. Props to Melvin for letting me borrow Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers SE dvd and the Gorgeous dvd. I hadn't seen Two Towers until 2 days ago, but I must say it was pretty sweet. It got me excited about the last LotR movie, although I probably won't see it until it comes out on dvd. I haven't watched Gorgeous yet, but from what I hear it's pretty bad. :/ I still plan on watching it anyway. I still have several japanese movies to watch, all of which I've had for months now. Maybe I'll finally get around to watching those too. Who knows. One thing is for sure though, I have plenty to keep me busy. Unfortunately I never feel like doing any of it.

I'm still open to ideas for ways to use up my monthly hosting bandwidth. If you've got an idea, leave a message on the forums. (See previous post for more details.) Keep in mind there are restricitons, but the bottom line is that it keeps me (and maybe others) entertained.

Speaking of being entertained, Shawn showed me this cool video of these japanese robots dancing. They aren't seizure robots, but pretty neat anyway. Check it out.

Gorgeous IS pretty bad. Its the first HK-based "action flick" I've seen with a plot. Only things that save it are the few fight scenes and Shu.

Useless fact: that robot on the seizure page is called Mazinger. Don't ask me how I know.

yeah, some of the fight scenes were pretty cool, although a little silly at times.
