birfday

For those who are familiar with my usual birthday ritual of posting a messed up picture of myself on here, I'm breaking the mold this year and not posting any pic. To be blunt, I'm tired and don't feel like taking a picture and Photoshopping it. Oh well.

Another year has passed, and I'm now a proud member of the two four club. Today was one of the best birthdays I've had in a long time. This morning when I got to work all my coworkers kept wishing me a happy b-day. As it turns out, my manager had posted a thread on our message board wishing me a happy birthday, and he also said something about our lab being lucky to have me. That made me feel especially good because I don't think he's ever done anything like that for other employee's birthdays. I could be wrong, but I don't recall anything like that ever happening before. So, coupled with my coworkers' wishes, and my boss' message, I felt pretty good. After that shift, I headed on to EvoPsych which was pretty uneventful, then had a quick lunch, then back to work at 4. I was in such a good mood today that I didn't get a shred of work done today. I feel kinda bad for doing that, but work was the last thing on my mind today. After work was Photography class where we saw an interesting documentary on a photographer named Ansel Adams. His work is amazing and after the video I felt quite inspired. Once class was out, me, Ting, Cassie, and Minh went out to eat at Korea House where I got some bibimbab that was quite delicious. Afteward I came home to find no one home. Apparently my family was at the hospital with my cousin who apparently is doing drugs again and had to be hospitalized tonight as a result. When I came to my room I found a funny little birthday card and some balloons and some money, which is great since I'm super broke right now. So that's pretty much how my day went today. What made today so special was mainly the amount of people who gave me birthday wishes. It made me realize who my friends are and that I'm not as big a loner as I believe myself to be. I guess it's all part of growing up.

Actually since I have been at the LTC the manager your speak of has never done so enjoy it :) Maybe he will do it for future birthdays, but even if that is the case, you're the first one :)

Oh and Ansel Adams rox. Hardcore.

yeah, I felt kinda bad that he did that. I mean it felt great and all, but I can't help but think of all the other birthdays that have passed and how no one did anything for those.

and yeah, Ansel Adams did some amazing work, but it was kinda jacked up when they were talking about his affair with his assistant and how she was his only true love or something like that.

Well, I hoped you wished for many more to come. BTW, I meant to tell you some time ago, thanks for everything.
